Gerard hails form North Monaghan, having been born into the Carrickroe area of Errigal Truagh. Having worked previously in Furniture manufacturing and retail Gerard took his first steps into the Financial Services industry in 1998. He is a Qualified Financial Advisor and has also secured a qualification in Retirement Planning Advice. A highly experienced professional who always places his clients front and centre of all dealings.

Gerard has been emersed in all things GAA from childhood having represented his club Gaeil Triucha CLG at all levels as a player and an administrator. He enjoyed many successes at underage level and also won titles at Junior and Intermediate level as an adult player with the club. Since retiring from the playing fields he has coached every team from U10 to Senior in the club as well as coaching and managing different senior clubs in Monaghan and neighbouring counties.

He has been part of Gaeil Triucha Executive committee for the majority of his adult life and has held different Officer positions. Gerard can be found in Croke Park on most big days during the summer when time allows. Gerards proudest day in GAA was as a spectator watching his club win the All Ireland Club Intermediate football title at GAA HQ in 2014. As a keen sports fan he follows closely the fortunes of the Irish Rugby team and the Liverpool FC soccer team.
